Rajasthan (literally, the abode of princes) is the
traditional homeland of the rajputs who are known for their
chivalry, valour and heroism. It is a land of mediaeval forts
and places on hilltops of lakes which cast a spell on the
visitor. Temples of 8th century still stand amidst
scattered ruins, mediaeval cities cluster round
turreted marble palaces and spacious formal gardens Rajasthan
brings you nature at its most beautiful; flaming desert
sunsets, forests which harbour tiger, panther, deer and wild
boar; lakes flocked with water birds and gardens alive with
dancing peacock. Perhaps no other region of India
is so thrilling and so colourful, or possesses more that is
traditional and picturesque. Rajasthan’s stirring story which
is full of heroic deeds, forms a glorious chapter of Indian
history. The state formed by the merger of 22
princely state. It is bounded on the west-north-west by
Pakistan, north and north-east by Punjab and Hariyana, east by
Uttar Pradesh South-east by Madhya Pradesh and south by
